LT_FILTER: Feed data from WWW.SATLIST.DK into your EchoStar LT8700
Obsolete until www.satlist.dk is replaced :-(
This utility reads the SATELLIT.CSV file from WWW.SATLIST.DK. That file contains the frequencies for all channels on all satellites. So what LT_FILTER does is to filter out those satellites and channels that you can't receive, creating seperate files for each satellite for ease of use, in the format that LTEDIT expects for its import function. This is an alternative to reading in files from www.satcodx.com, which I found a bit clunky.
You need LTEDIT v1.07 (10. October 2000) or later in order to import setup files from this program into your LT8700.
OK, so here are the instructions...
-
Download SATELLIT.CSV from www.satlist.dk
BROKEN LINK: Satlist.DK is now closed!
This program WILL NOT WORK unless we find a new website with downloadable data for analog channels.
-
Download LT_FILTER.ZIP (32k v1.01 25 June 2001) from here. Inside the ZIP you'll find LT_FILTER.EXE and LT_FILTER.INI
(plus the source code LT_FILTER.CPP and the project files LT_FILTER.MAK and LT_FILTER.DSP).
-
Save LT_FILTER.EXE and LT_FILTER.INI in the same directory as SATELLIT.CSV
-
Edit LT_FILTER.INI to suit your needs. LT_FILTER will filter out
channels and satellites you don't want.
Example of LT_FILTER.INI:
; Say if you want TV channels, Radio channels, or both TV=yes RADIO=no ; Say if you can receive C Band frequencies CBand=no ; Say if you can receive signals with circular polarization CircularPol=no ; Say which modes you can receive Modes=PAL,SECAM,NTSC,D2-MAC ; Say which crypto standards you can decode Crypts=Eurocrypt,Videocrypt ; Give east and west limits, if desired.. ; East and west limits are in tenths of a degree... ; Both can be east or west. ; ;EastLimit=180.0E ; example - no limits! ;WestLimit=180.0W ; EastLimit=28.2E ; example - 28.2 East is as far as I can go WestLimit=34.5W ; example - 34.5 West is as far as I can go the other way ; List any satellite positions that you know you can't receive ; Same format as EastLimit and WestLimit. ; Comment out this line if not applicable Exclude=16.0E,7.0W ; example - I can't get 16.0E or 7.0W
-
Get to a command prompt (START/PROGRAMS/MSDOS-PROMPT) and say: "LT_FILTER SATELLIT.CSV". This will create one file per satellite e.g.
TV_19_2E_ASTRA1.TXT, TV_13_0E_HOTBIRD.TXT, etc etc... Also RADIO_19_2E_ASTRA1.TXT etc etc if you
wish - though LTEDIT has problems setting up radio channels.
-
Now run plug in your LT8700 and start the LTEDIT program from www.setedit.de.
Select each satellite in turn, press the "SatCoDX" import button, and use the TV_xx_xx_xxxxx.TXT file made by
LT_FILTER for that satellite.
-
MSVCRT.DLL not found error? If this happens, you need to download it from here (130k) and
put it the same directory as LT_FILTER.EXE, or somewhere in your Windows search PATH.
